Xupes is more than an online resale store. We offer the ultimate personal shopping experience for our community of engaged luxury enthusiasts. We connect with our clientele through our likeminded appreciation of luxury brands, design and a passion for making pre-loved the first choice.
The story of Xupes began in 2009 when Frank and Joseph McKenzie started the business from their family home in Hertfordshire with a vision to create a unique online presence in an emerging luxury pre-loved market. Originally established in watches, art and design, we introduced the jewellery department in 2012, followed by handbags and accessories in 2015. The business was then set to cater for the demands of our growing community as the pre-loved market boomed.
Our next chapter saw continued success and like most businesses, we refocussed in 2020. Due to the unprecedented changes in the luxury retail environment, we elevated our online experience and refined our brand offer based on our clienteles' evolving shopping habits. During this period, our hit Channel4 series ‘Second-Hand for 50 Grand’ brought a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse of life at Xupes to millions, introducing them to our story.
In 2021, the Xupes watch business was acquired by MPN Marketplace Networks, marking the beginning of a strategic redirection for the company. Under the direction of Joseph McKenzie, the watch business adopted the Chrono24 name and moved away from Xupes to be found on the Chrono24 marketplace and their new home, The Barn by Chrono24.
Since 2022, Xupes has been under the sole direction of Reece Morgan and Debra Willis. Reece, the former photographer and fashion stylist who founded Xupes’ handbag department has vast experience in the luxury pre-owned market, a wealth of knowledge on the world’s most coveted brands and an impressive list of clientele. Debra has a 25-year career in retail with extensive commercial and business development experience, alongside 17 years in the jewellery industry. Along with our talented team, they combine their expertise to lead the new Xupes brand, with a mission to set ourselves apart from our competitors through an elevated client experience to become the first choice for luxury shopping.
