Extraordinary Jewellery to love forever

Growing up I loved playing dress up in my mother’s costume jewellery-- big, bright chunky necklaces in a kaleidoscope of colours, clip on earrings that dazzled and dangled from my un-pierced lobes. Bold brass bangles and eye-catching cuffs that clashed and clinked on my young wrists in a symphony of make-believe glamour. Decadent and fabulous, there was something magical in those baubles. Decades later my love affair with jewellery endures. There is something transformational about jewellery that I feel undressed without wearing something that sparkles. In the spirit of dressing-up here is our edit of unique, dazzling, and dare we say magical pieces to love forever.

We love these Tanzanite and diamond star earrings set in 18k white gold. Currently only mined in an eight square mile area near the base of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, the gem’s namesake, tanzanite has amassed a dedicated fan base since being discovered and mined commercially in the1960’s. The stone’s mesmerizing violet-blue hue makes it the second most popular blue gemstone behind sapphire. Regal and sophisticated, this dazzling ear candy boasts 3.0 carat oval cut tanzanite gem centres surrounded by 32 round brilliant cut diamonds totaling just over 2.0 carats.

Our lust for De Grisogono continues with honourable mentions including these exquisite Diamond and emerald catene earrings. A creative mobile-effect of 18k white gold ellipses, these show-stopping baubles are both contemporary and timeless and need no other pieces to detract from their stand-out splendour.

Sticking with sculptural design, is this pair of striking Tubetto earrings. Crafted in 18k rose gold and trimmed with just over 5 carats of round pink sapphires, the polished finish and asymmetric geometry lend these earrings truly show-stopping cache.

The Tubetto earrings pair brilliantly with the Brown diamond Frange ring, also by De Grisogono. This piece is covered in over five carats of round Fancy Brown diamonds, complemented with seven carats of briolette brown diamonds. We love the depth of this ring that from one perspective appears to rest as a crown on the hand whilst from another adopts an abstract sea-creature beauty— the unique multi-faceted dimensions is quintessential De Grisogono.

We also love these modern Sapphire Allegra earrings juxtaposed with black and nano ceramic coating, highlighting De Grisogono’s unique use of unconventional materials.

Channeling our inner mystic is De Beers Hope talisman necklace in 18k rose gold. Thought to possess magical powers and bring its wearer good luck, this glittering gold medallion is a joy to behold. Studded with over forty diamonds befitting an Egyptian pharaoh, this stand out piece will dress up any ensemble day or night.

Few jewellers espouse timeless elegance quite like Tiffany & Co. Inside the delicate duck egg blue box treasure awaits. These woven hoop earrings in 18k yellow gold are a class act to dress up or down in a turn of versatility, not to mention nod to the 70’s with their glamorous retro appeal. A comfortable clip-on makes them suitable for pierced or un-pierced ears.

Architectural, elegant and imbued with unmistakable slick Scandi style are hallmarks underpinning the ethos of Georg Jensen jewellery. Established in 1904, the brand has grown to epitomize pared back Danish design. Dating from the 1960’s, this segmented gold necklace is a unique example of mid-century Danish aesthetics and epitomizes Jensen’s artisanal expertise in metalwork and design. Sourced from a private collection, this exquisite piece made of large, interwoven panels is a rare find. Crafted in 130 grams of solid 18k yellow gold (today these are mostly made of sterling silver) the necklace has deservedly been awarded a place in our exclusive Hard to Find collection.
