A Closer Look at the Fendi Peekaboo

The Fendi Peekaboo Bag turned ten this year. This Fendi favourite was unveiled on the runway in September 2008 for the Spring 2009 season, all under the creative direction of Silvia Venturini. The Peekaboo soon became a must-have after its debut, and still remains a bag of status today.

Fendi Red Python Leather Mini Peekaboo

The bag was playfully named Peekaboo, like the childhood game, due to its unique double closure. This trendy top handle bag can be worn open, revealing the inside lining of the bag which is often a combination of playful textures, prints and colours to contrast the exterior of the bag.

This highly-practical bag features separate compartments built in as a feature, within which you can store away everything efficiently – its an organised bag lovers dream!

With the choice of using a top handle or the addition of a shoulder strap, the bag is very versatile. The Peekaboo is the chameleon of the bag collectors wardrobe; you can take it to work as a top handle for the power dressing businesswoman, then dress it down with the strap for a more relaxed look at after work drinks.

This ever-popular Fendi comes in a variety of sizes, Large, Regular, Mini, Micro and even one for Men. It is no wonder the tote is a favourite amongst members of the fashion community. English Supermodel Naomi Campbell is a known collector of Fendi and has been spotted sporting a blue Peekaboo blue in the micro size.

During a two day trip to Ireland back in July, The Duchess of Sussex Meghan teamed her stunning grey Roland Mouret Midi dress with a Black Smooth Calfskin Leather & gold hardware combination large Peekaboo in attendance to the residence of President Michael D Higgins.

The likes of Amal Clooney, Olivia Palermo have also been sighted on a number of occasions carrying this piece. Even our favourite family, the Kardashian Wests, shared their love for the Peekaboo in the #MeAndMyPeekaboo campaign earlier this summer. The campaign showcased what Fendi described as a collection of unseen images that reveal the intimate relationship between each person and their Fendi Peekaboo. Even North West, at only five years old, had her very own Micro Peekaboo!
