Fendi, the brainchild of designer couple Edoardo and Adele Fendi, first hit the Roman streets as a fur and leather shop in 1925. The next generation of Fendi blood, a total of five Italian sisters, secured the services of design guru Karl Lagerfeld and together they brought the brand to the forefront of global fashion. Silvia Venturini Fendi’s 1997 Baguette Bag, supposed to be carried underarm like a French stick, was propelled to fame after being chosen by Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City. In 2001, Fendi was acquired by global super brand LVMH.
