This season, we have seen a multitude of trends making good use of bold and colourful designs. From animal print to sequin drama, the focus has undoubtedly been on standing out, but what about those of us who prefer a more understated look? Well, you’ll be pleased to hear that minimalism is back this season and we have the perfect selection of handbags and jewellery to complete your look.
Here we have teamed our Vintage 1996 Chanel Jumbo XL Classic Briefcase with a crisp white shirt and black high rise tailored belted trousers.
Caviar Leather is perfect if you are using a bag frequently, so for the purpose of a briefcase, this would be more durable than the traditional lambskin leather you find on many Chanel vintage bags.
Wearing your hair in a slick bun not only accentuates the neck, but also gives you an opportunity to show off your earrings. These beautiful earrings from Tiffany & Co suit this look perfectly, with the 18k yellow gold matching the briefcase hardware and the pearls elegantly complementing the shirt. We’ve also added a wide brim fedora for another spin on this look.
An oversized jumper is a staple item for any minimalists wardrobe, and an oversize blazer is a great match with a high neck for a more casual take on power dressing. We paired this look with a Hermès Rouge H Kelly, adding a splash of colour to the warm cream tones of the outfit. This versatile top-handle bag comes with an additional shoulder strap making it a perfect choice for your daily commute. We’ve also added a pair of Van Cleef & Arpels pyramid earrings in yellow gold to complete the look.
For our penultimate look, we have tried a more playful take on the minimalist trend, creating a monochromatic caramel outfit that makes a strong statement.
Our final look is also monochromatic, but goes back to the black and white tones typically associated with minimalism. We’ve paired a classic little black dress with a Chanel mini flap in grey quilted wool and black satin which is the perfect size for evenings out. Our model is wearing the Chanel with a white roll-neck top, which adds a great contrast to the outfit, but can be removed in the warmer months. Finally, the look is completed with another necklace from Georg Jensen, this time in 18k yellow gold to match the hardware of the mini flap.
