We are thrilled to be offering a ‘factory single sealed’ Patek Philippe Platinum 40th anniversary Nautilus Reference 5711/1P-001. We believe it is the only example currently for sale that is ‘factory sealed’ still being in its original protective packaging.

In 2016, Patek Philippe was celebrating the 40th anniversary of its casually elegant Nautilus collection. For many experts and connoisseurs of classic watchmaking artistry, this was a memorable occasion.

A look back to 1976 not only shows how quickly and dramatically the world has changed since then, but also illustrates how well the Nautilus has stayed its course across four decades in terms of design, dependability, and popularity.

This limited-edition Nautilus model was launched on the 40th anniversary subtly allude to the history of Patek Philippe's first casually elegant model. The reference 5711/1P with the 40 mm platinum case pays tribute to the original Nautilus reference 3700/1A "Jumbo" dating back to 1976.

Each 40th anniversary Nautilus comes in an anniversary box that also contains the Certificate of Origin and an anniversary document. Made of brown natural cork, the box is an authentic replica of the stylish 1976 original.

Technical Details And Description

The watch is powered by the famous automatic calibre 324 SC. The movement is made of no less than 217 different parts including the central 21k gold central rotor. It is finished by hand to the highest standards, decorated with the Cotes de Genève and bears the Patek Philippe seal.

The 5711/1P immediately met the success it deserved. Only a fraction of the most prestigious clients of Patek Philippe could secure an example, establishing its status as the most important and sought-after modern Nautilus. Unsurprisingly, since then, they have been closely guarded in distinguished private collections, also only a handful of examples have appeared on the open market since its introduction and hardly any factory sealed and unworn examples like the one, we have on offer.
