Offered here is a rare opportunity to acquire a beautiful stainless steel Patek Phillipe 3800/1A manufactured circa 1980.
In the very early 1980’s Patek Philippe launched the mid-size Nautilus, reference 3800/1. The watch had a reduced diameter and provided an attractive alternative to the already popular 'Jumbo' version. The watch also featured the new calibre 335 SC and was available in steel, two-tone and full gold. The stainless-steel case was manufactured by Favre-Perret and the dials by Stern Creation’s. The slightly more conservative case size ensures this timepiece perfectly fits a wrist which would not necessarily accommodate the larger, Jumbo size.

This example has the index-markers and hands manufactured from white gold, indicated by the lower-case Greek letter ‘sigma’ at the bottom of the dial. The ‘sigma’ signature was a visual declaration of the use of precious materials and was adopted by a number of manufacturers throughout the 70’s - emphasising the inherent value of a rare and high-quality mechanical watch.

The condition of this 3800/1A Nautilus is very good. The stainless-steel case is unmarked, the brushed steel and polished surfaces are beautifully defined. The blue dial with its applied gold baton indices and matching hands are in perfect condition.
The bracelet is in the same very good condition as the case of this previously owned Nautilus, there are also no marks or stretch to the bracelet.
This 3800/1A Nautilus is accompanied by its Patek Phillipe box, wallet and extract from the archive’s guarantee/certificate.
