Offered here is a superb example of the Rolex Datejust Linen Dial Stainless Steel 16014 manufactured circa 1980.
This example has the correct dial with Blue and White gold applied hour markers for its 642---- serial number.
This is a stunning reference 16014 Datejust. Not only does it have a white gold bezel, applied hour markers and hands but it also has a stunning blue dial.
This 16014 is powered by the famous and very reliable Rolex Calibre 3035 movement. The movement is officially Chronometer certified (COSC). This was Rolex's first movement to feature a 'high beat' rate: increasing the beats per minute from 19,800 to 28,800 BPH (or 8 beats a second), this allowed them to perform to incredible timekeeping standards. Furthermore, the movement is also 'hacking': all hands stop when the crown is pulled out to allow for precise synchronisation with external time sources.
The condition of this vintage Datejust overall is very good. The case appears to have been very lightly polished in the past but retains strong equal lugs along with the brushed finish to the top edges remaining very well defined, the white gold fluted bezel has no dings or scratches and compliments the overall appearance of this 36mm Datejust. The blue dial is in excellent condition with no flaws to the hour plots along with the white gold baton markers and hands all matching in colour and wear. The Sapphire glass is the correct Top Hat style inclusive of the Cyclops date window for this model, it is also free of any scratches or marks.
The watch comes on the correct 62510 Rolex Jubilee solid link bracelet and 555 end links. The bracelet is showing only light wear and minor stretch.
The watch also comes with its original Rolex box.
