Offered here is a superb example of the rare Mimo Stainless-Steel Reference A.S 1130 with Black dial. Manufactured in the 1940s.
Description and Technical Details
Mimo (Girard Perregaux) Wermachtwerk AS 1130-Men's-1940's A Girard Perregaux sold in Europe under the name of Mimo equipped with Wermachtwerk AS 1130 From Girard Perregaux milestone history.
The Second World War scarcely affected the company's activities. It continued to develop GIRARD-PERREGAUX both in Europe and on the American continent but concentrated on DH Mimo for the European markets.”
The Mimo WWII Dienstuhr Heer is based on the so-called Wermachtwerk A.S 1130 and was considered a very robust watch.
What makes the DH Mimo stand out from similar WWII watches is for the case in Stainless Steel and the improvements on the A.S 1130 movement. There is an added "bridge" for shock-protection, and it is also antimagnetic.
The overall condition of this Vintage DH Mimo A.S 1130 is good. The case appears to have been lightly polished in the past but retains strong equal lugs with the surfaces remaining well defined.
The Black dial has developed a consistent darkening and patina along with the hour plots and numerals. The sword hands are in a similar condition to the hour plots and all 3 of them have aged typically for a vintage watch from the 1940s.
The acrylic glass is the correct slightly chamfered profile for this model and is free of any detrimental scratches or marks.
The watch comes on a vintage style NATO black strap with stainless-steel buckle and retaining hoops.
