Submariner No Date Gilt Gloss Meters First Stainless Steel - 5513

Offered here is a stunning example of the Rolex Gloss, Gilt Writing and Meters First Dial Submariner reference 5513 manufactured circa 1965.

This example has the correct dial for its 130---- serial number range. These Gloss, Gilt and meter first Submariners are highly sought after in Rolex vintage collecting. This example has all the DNA from the early integration with its meters first dial. The 5513 was introduced in 1962 and there was still a moderately revised model in the line-up until 1989 - making it one of the longest running model references in the Rolex range. The 5513 Gloss dial meters first dials were only in production for approximately 5 years from 1962 to 1967. They are recognisable by the writing in Gilt (Gold) and by its 200mtr 660ft.

The overall condition of this vintage Submariner is very good. The case has been lightly polished in the past but retains strong equal lugs and crown guards along with the brushed finish to the top edges and chamfers nicely defined, the thick font bezel has no detrimental dings and some natural wear marks and has faded beautifully to what is recognised by collectors as a “Ghost Grey” colour.

The Gloss dial has taken on a slightly faded consistent appearance, with the tritium hour plot markers and hands showing a rich pumpkin colour enhancing the overall appearance of this vintage piece. The correct profile dome Plexi glass is free of any scratches or marks.

The watch comes on a later Submariner bracelet reference 93150 Oyster bracelet with 580 end links. This bracelet is showing minimal wear and stretch with no discernible marks or scratches for a bracelet of this age.
