"This wonderful example of mid-1960s Zenith watchmaking is emblematic of their understated design and manufacturing style. Almost military-like, this dress watch is rarely seen in this format with a no-name dial.
The highly unusual silver dial of this Zenith is without a company signature and instead has a simple applied gold Zenith star at 12 o’clock. The straight, gold hour batons are applied 18k gold and match the stick hands. The dial is stamped Swiss Made.
The 18k gold round case measures 34mm in diameter. The manual wind movement is a 17 jewel in house Zenith calibre 2310, recognisable from its enclosed bridges and small signature. Other watch manufacturers including Movado used this excellent calibre for its accuracy and stability. This serial number dates to 1964.
The case back is stamped and hallmarked with some witness marks from watchmakers. The watch comes on a brown leather strap and 18k gold Zenith pin buckle with domed plexiglass."
