Product Details
Lemania Stainless Steel chronograph that was issued to a BBC war correspondent in the 1950's/60's. It is engraved 'BBC 2288'. This watches were used to identify a victim in the field should they be killed. These watches a highly sought after and collectible. This watch is 100% original. We also think the strap is original to the watch. The dial is off white/silver and does show signs of age and use this watch had had. The watch is a gents model measuring 36mm in diameter. This is a really stunning watch. It is rare to fine one in 100% original condition and the wear only adds to the provenance of the watch. The case does have some dings and scratches. The crystal similarly has some scratches. The manual wind original Lemania movement itself is fully functioning and in excellent condition for the age (please see pictures). The watch comes in a vintage box that we think may be original. \r\n
