Our Opinion

Danish artist and silversmith Georg Jensen is renowned for his style and craftsmanship which spans jewellery, watches, silverware and homeware. All of Jensen’s pieces are linked by a recognizable Scandinavian style which despite over one-hundred-years of history, has remained at the forefront of modern design. They encompasses a ‘timeless aesthetic’, possessing both beauty and functionality.
This necklace by Georg Jensen, sourced from a personal collection, is a vintage piece made in the 1960s. Iconic and representative of Danish mid-century design, Jensen’s large segmented necklaces are difficult to find, especially in solid 18k yellow gold. Many of the pieces available today are typically crafted in silver.

Each panel is delicately interwoven into the next and the necklace sits perfectly as a choker piece around the décolletage, fastened by a hook clasp. This exquisite craftsmanship displays Jensen’s outstanding metalwork skill.

Weighing more than 130 grams of solid 18k yellow gold, this would have been an expensive designer piece, and is marked as design number 1325.
