Serial Numbers

Rolex

The model number of your Rolex will be engraved on the case behind where the strap connects with the watch at 12 O’Clock. The serial number similarly is engraved behind where the strap connects with the watch at 6 O’Clock. You will need to remove the bracelet using a spring bar tool or have a professional jeweller check this for you. For watches from 2005 Rolex began engraving the serial number on the inside of the dial at 6 O’Clock. From November 2010 Rolex reformed their serial numbers making them randomised. This means that they can generally only be dated by referring to the original guarantee card or by Rolex themselves.

Omega

Older Omega watches typically carry the serial and model number inside the case meaning these must be professionally identified. Newer Omega watches carry the serial number on the reverse of one of the case lugs. These are laser engraved and may require magnification to read unless your eyesight is particularly good.

Panerai

Your Panerai serial number for your watch is engraved on the back of the case.

Breitling

Generally Breitling watches post 2000 bear an engraving behind where the strap connects to the case at 6 O’Clock between the lugs. This code starts with 4 digits with the first 2 relating to the week and the latter 2 relating to the year of manufacture. The week given reflects the week in a calendar year.
