Since Hermès created the first Sac à Dépêches bag in 1935, the maison has led the industry in timeless luxury goods. The bag proved popular, but was taken to new heights by Grace Kelly when she used hers to hide her pregnancy bump from the paparazzi. One picture captured a moment that started a frenzy and was featured on the cover of magazines around the world. The bag was dubbed “The Kelly” and it became an immediate status symbol.
Hermès went on to create a family of Kelly bags, incorporating different shapes and variations. This model, the Kelly Pochette, is a clutch that features the iconic Kelly turnlock in ruthenium, a metal that is a rarity in itself and used sparingly by Hermès.
The Pochette is the only clutch in the Kelly collection with a flat, wide base that allows it to stand on its own. It is crafted in lizard leather, which is now in low production at Hermès with fewer being sold globally.
