A very large, hand-knotted Persian rug originating from Northwest Persia, specifically the region of Tabriz. The rugs dimensions are 5.98m x 4.03m and the rug retains original fringing to either end. The signature of the Master Weaver 'Said Alizdeh' can be found within the guard border. The rug features a very large central medallion and corner designs/spandrels that feature 'Vase of Wealth' ornamental designs. This rug is a superb example of the Master Weaver's workmanship and encompasses a large variety of muted, calming, pastel colours, the main field area is a pale ivory edged with a warm grey tone. The main border is a pale pistachio green and pale pink is also a prominent feature colour. The design heavily features floral motives and spiralling vines. There are a few pops of colour such as oranges, lilacs, reds and blues used to depict a number of different floral designs. This rug has a high knot density of 70 Radj which is exceptional for a rug this size. Tabriz rugs can be set apart from other Persian rugs due to their quality but also the vast array of colours used. All of the photographs are taken by our in-house photographer and are an accurate representation of the item. Please bear in mind the colours can appear different from opposing ends depending on the direction of the pile. We offer the service of viewing any of these rugs on an appointment only basis at our London (N1) warehouse and are happy to answer any further queries you may have prior to purchase.
