Product Details
An ornate and intricate hand-knotted rug originating from central Persia, specifically the region of Qum. This part silk/superfine wool rug measures 2.15m x 1.42m and retains fringing around the outside. The rug is rich in colour, featuring tones of deep red, deep blue and with an ivory central panel. The centre of the rug features the tree of life, surrounded by the birds of paradise. At the top and bottom of the central panel, there are two small rugs and there are 12 very small panels featuring archaeological depictions. The rug is part silk, therefore, has a lustre which can be picked up from different angles when walking around the rug, highlighting the intricacy of the design and adding depth. All of the photographs are taken by our in-house photographer and are an accurate representation of the item. Please bear in mind the colours can appear different from opposing ends depending on the direction of the pile. We offer the service of viewing any of these rugs on an appointment only basis at our London (N1) warehouse and are happy to answer any further queries you may have prior to purchase.
