Product Details

  • A rare and unique pure silk hand-knotted rug originating from central Persia, specifically the region of Qum. This silk rug measures 1.6m x 1.06m and still retains fringing. The intricate and luscious design of this rug centrally focuses on the iconic tree of life which is also surrounded by the birds of paradise on a neutral tone background. An abundance of other animals such as deer, possibly gazelle or ibexes and foliage feature within the design and are also used within a dense repeat pattern around the deep red main border of the rug. The high percentage of silk within this design means that the rug has a lustre which can be picked up from different angles when walking around the rug, highlighting the intricacy of the design and adding depth. Rugs from the Qum region are renown for their high quality, richness and density which is attributed to their high knot density when weaved. All of the photographs are taken by our in-house photographer and are an accurate representation of the item. Please bear in mind the colours can appear different from opposing ends depending on the direction of the pile. We offer the service of viewing any of these rugs on an appointment only basis at our London (N1) warehouse and are happy to answer any further queries you may have prior to purchase.
