  • Condition The bowl is offered in presentable condition with wonderful finely painted decoration. The bowl does have some breaks which have an old metal staple repair. There are some further fine hairline cracks and there is also an old unpainted museum repair to the rim of the bowl.   • WELCOME TO XUPES SUMMER ORIENTAL AUCTION! We offer this large and stunning antique Chinese Qianlong Mandarin palette painted bowl decorated with figural scenes and dating from the 18th century. The large rounded porcelain bowl stands raised on a narrow rounded foot with a recessed base and is hand painted to two sides with large figural panels set within a detailed and finely painted honeycomb surround with smaller panels painted in between. The bowl is painted with a panel and scroll design floral border around the inside rim, with similar decoration around the foot and has a further figural scene within a decorative border to the inside base of the bowl. The bowl has collectors paper labels to the base and is recorded as sold by Sotheby's during the period commencing 13th November 1984 and was lot no. 1304. The bowl is not marked.
