  • We offer this rare and unusual antique Chinese Kangxi famille verte jar decorated with a Magpie perched on the branch of a flowering hawthorn tree dating from the 18th century. The porcelain jar stands on a narrow unglazed rounded foot with a recessed base and has a rounded bulbous body with a raised unglazed narrow funnel shaped neck. The body of the jar is finely decorated in the famille verte palette with a Magpie perched on the branch of a flowering hawthorn tree with a small bamboo shrub emerging from a rock work ground to the opposite side. The jar has an underglaze blue double ring mark to the base.
