  • We offer this superb antique Chinese lidded jar hand painted with Chinese goldfish swimming amidst weed with simple hanging handles believed to date from the 18th or early 19th century. This finely made porcelain jar is of rounded bulbous shape standing on a rounded unglazed foot with a recessed base and has a slightly narrowed shaped top with a domed cover with a very finely defined resting dog finial. The jar has loops attached to either side of the body with simple original hanging metal handles. The body of the jar and lid is painted in underglaze blue with unusually shaped Chinese goldfish swimming amidst weed and the jar is not marked.
