  • We offer this exceptional antique Chinese Qianlong blue & white painted basin shaped bowl of good size dating from the mid 18th century. The large porcelain bowl stands on a narrow rounded pedestal foot with an unglazed rim and is of rounded shape with a folded over rounded top rim. The bowl is very finely decorated with a watery landscape with pagoda style buildings, banana trees, a boatman, a figure on a bridge with parasol and numerous other detailed features. The design is set with a complex diaper around the inside edge with exquisitely painted floral designs around the outside of the bowl. The bowl has an unusual textured surface finish and is one of the finest decorated examples we have had the pleasure in offering for sale. The bowl is not marked and originates from the Chapman collection, Debden Manor.
