  • We offer this superb pair antique Chinese double gourd vases decorated with figural and floral and bird panels in the famille rose palette and dating from the 19th century. These finely made porcelain vases stand on a narrow rounded unglazed foot with a slightly recessed base and have a rounded bulbous body, pinched neck and rounded bulbous top narrowing to a short funnel shaped neck. The vases are decorated with figural panels set between panels painted with birds on flowering blooms with painted detail around the panels with smaller panels painted around the top of the body and two figural panels painted to the top section. The vases are painted in coloured enamels with some remnants of gilding. Neither vase is marked.
