  • Originating from an extensive private collection offered under instruction we offer this superb Della, Robbia twin handled art pottery vase made at Birkenhead and painted with floral designs by John Fargo and Liz Wilkins and dating from around 1895. This elegantly shaped earthenware was stands raised on a rounded pedestal foot with a pear shaped rounded body and with a slender neck with a pinched and raised four corner top with elegantly shaped handles applied either side. The body of the vase is hand painted with panels containing flowering stems and set between areas painted with smaller flower heads and with heart shaped designs painted to the neck and sun designs around the foot. The vase has an incised galleon mark along with DR for Della Robbia to the base and also has an F mark for John Fargo who would have been responsible for the potting and painted LW marks for Liz Wilkins who would have painted the decoration.
