  • Originating from an extensive private collection offered under instruction we offer this rare and exceptional antique Doulton Lambeth art pottery jug decorated with stylised floral designs and grotesque handle by Elizabeth Fisher and dated 1879/ The stoneware jug stands raised on a rounded pedestal foot with a shaped cylindrical body and a funnel shaped top with a small pouring spout and with a grotesque twist handle. The body of the jug has been elaborately decorated with incised and and applied floral designs with beaded outlines with large stylised flower heads around the body and with further half moon designs around the shoulder and with leaf designs around the neck and foot. The jug is decorated in in tones of blue and brown with white beading and has impressed Doutlon Lambeth marks to the base along with an incised monogram for Elizabeth Fisher along with other assistant marks.
