  • Originating from an extensive private collection offered under instruction we offer this extremely rare Charles Brannam Barum Ware art pottery vase moulded with grotesque sea creatures and designed by Frederick Braddon and dated 1880. The earthenware vase is of rounded bulbous shape and stands raised on the heads of three serpent like grotesque sea creatures their scaled bodies applied against the side of the vase. The vase is decorated with a low relief single blue painted floral design with leafy stem to three sides and set against a graduated brown ground with a richly glazed finish. The vase has a blue finish to the inside and has incised Ch Brannam Barum Ware mark to the base along with an FB mark for Frederick Braddon and is also dated 1880.
