  • Originating from an extensive private art pottery collection we offer this large rare antique English art pottery vase designed by William Baron with bird and floral panels for Charles Brannam and dated 1891. This large earthenware vase is of rounded bulbous shape with a short narrow funnel shaped top. The body of the vase is decorated with two large sgraffito style panels, one with a bird perched on a branch and another with a bird in flight landing on a branch. The scenes are set against a rough cast ground and set with an ornately shaped incised frame. The areas between the panels are decorated with incised floral and scroll style designs with petal borders around the top and base of the vase. The vase is hand decorated in tones of brown, blue and cream. The vase has incised signature marks for CH Brannam Barum to the base along with incised initials WB for William Baron and is numbered 100 and also dated 1891.
