  • Fresh to the market we offer this scarce antique Staffordshire pearlware blue and white printed three part lidded soap dish marked Semi-China dating from the early 19th century and made possibly by Riley. This finely made rectangular shaped earthenware box has a lift out soap holder with drainer holes with a recessed rim which supports the cover. The body of the dish is decorated in a brightly coloured floral design with the cover decorated with an ornate vase full of flowering blooms. The box has an asterisk mark impressed to the base along with the words Semi-China in lower case within a Chinese seal style frame. We are unable to attribute a maker however this is a fine quality example and a rare find and was acquired from the Chapman Collection, Debden Manor.
