  • Fresh to the market we offer this rare antique porcelain teapot modelled as a large clam shell and made by William Brownfield with date registry mark for 13 October 1883. This very stylish and finely made teapot is modeled as a large clam shell resting on a base of seaweed with a moulded seaweed spout and handle. The fitted lid sits flush and has a small clam shell handle sitting on a bed of weed. The body of the teapot is finely detailed and hand decorated in pastel tones of green, blue and lilac. The teapot has a printed registration to the base and lid dating the teapot to 1883. This rare teapot was produced in various colours and was acquired from the Chapman Collection, Debden Manor.
