  • We offer this stunning antique Chinese baluster meiping shaped lidded vase decorated with flowering hawthorn with a four character Made in the Kangxi Reign mark to the base and believed to date from the 18th or early 19th century. This tall stylish porcelain vase stands on an unglazed rounded foot rim with kiln residue attached and has a recessed base. The vase has a meiping shape with a narrow funnel shaped neck and is hand decorated with flowering prunus trees with a petal border around the top and with a border painted with precious objects around the foot. The prunus is painted within a richly coloured blue cracked ice ground with some heaping and piling in places and also contains some kiln grit. The vase has a domed cover with a dog of Fo finial and has a four character Kangxi underglaze blue mark to the base.
