  • We offer this superb antique Chinese Kangxi lidded jar finely decorated with a watery landscape clobbered in Holland and believed to date from the early 18th century. The rounded bulbous porcelain jar stands on an unglazed foot rim with a recessed base and has an unglazed narrow top rim with a flat topped rounded lid. The jar is well decorated in red, yellow, blue and green enamels over a patterned underglaze blue ground with a watery landscape with buildings, boats, butterflies and mountains set with large floral designs with a similar decoration painted to cover. The decorative scene is set within a decorative border and decoration is highlighted with gilding. The jar is not marked but believed to date from the late Kangxi period or early Qianlong reign.
