  • We offer this rare and unusual antique Chinese Kangxi porcelain teapoy hand painted in polychrome with four figures riding on the back of various sea creatures dating from 1662 to 1722. The square form teapoy has four main panels set with angled corners and stands on an unglazed flat base with a round unglazed raised neck. The body of the teapoy is hand painted with figures carrying various objects riding on the back of fish, a lobster and a crab through waves. A formal border is painted around the top edge with precious objects painted to the four corner panels. The top rim is stained brown with red painted floral designs to the top edge. The tepoy is not marked.
