  • We offer this superb antique Doulton Lambeth art pottery mask jug decorated with floral designs by Elizabeth Atkins and Mary Butter and dated 1876. This elegantly shaped stoneware jug stands on a narrow rounded foot with a shaped bulbous rounded body with a funnel neck and pinched rim and with a moulded handle to the side. The jug has a mask applied below the spout with a further mask applied to the end of the handle. The body of the jug has an incised abstract floral design with relief carved flower heads on stems repeated around the body of the jug. These have been painted in blue and white with shades of brown on a dark mottled brown ground. The jug has an impressed Doulton Lambeth mark to the base along with incised monogram for Elizabeth Atkins and impressed mark for Mary Butter. The jug is also dated 1876.
