Product Details

  • Originating from an extensive private art pottery collection we are delighted to offer this superb pair antique Doulton Lambeth vases decorated with floral designs by Eliza Hollis, Emily London and Elizabeth Gadson and dated 1883. This stylish pair of stoneware vases are of beaker shape with a narrow rounded foot, a squat rounded body and a tall wide funnel shaped body with an everted rim. The body of the vase is decorated to two sides with an eight petal single bloom set within a circular frame and painted in blue on a brown stipple ground. Incised leaf designs have been applied in between with Acanthus style leaf designs arranged in panels around the foot. These have all been painted in tones of blue and brown and are set against a brown textured salt glazed ground. The vases have Doulton Lambeth impressed marks along with incised and impressed artist marks for Eliza Hollis, Emily London and Elizabeth Gadson and are also dated 1883.
