  • We offer this exceptional and rare antique Della Robbia, Birkenhead art pottery twin handled vase decorated with water lillie’s by Mary Furniss and dating from 1894-1906. This large and stylish red earthenware vase stands on a narrow rounded foot with a rounded bulbous body, a slender neck and a flower bud shaped top with scrolling handles applied to either side. The vase is hand painted in yellow with brown outlines against a blue and turquoise ground with flowering water lillie’s. The vase has an incised Della Robbia galleon mark to the base along with the DR and with a painted MF artist monogram for Mary Furniss along with a painted I.X. mark and an incised number. One of a large collection of English art pottery which we are currently selling on behalf of a collector!
