  • We offer this rare and stunning antique English majolica novelty teapot modelled as a three legged Manx sailor made by William Brownfield & Sons for the W Broughton China rooms on Duke Street in Douglas and dating between 1875 and 1890. The earthenware teapot is modelled as a three legged Manx sailor in uniform sat upon a coiled rope with the rope looped up over his shoulder to form the handle and with his third leg forming the spout. His head forms the lid and his collar is moulded with the Isle of Man symbol. The base is moulded in relief W BROUGHTON DOUGLAS ISLE OF MAN.
