Product Details

  • We offer this exceptional antique Chinese porcelain vase of large size painted in underglaze blue with two dragons amidst flowering shrubs with Qianlong (1736-95) four character mark to the base and possibly of the period or slightly later. The large rounded bulbous vase has a wide rounded and unglazed foot rim with narrow short rounded top. The body of the vase is elaborately painted with various flowering shrubs including prunus and two large dragons which are confronting each other. The detail and richness of colour is superb. A smaller floral painted border is applied around the top and foot of the vase. The vase has a very thick glaze which has pooled in places and is full of fine particles and a number of black inclusions which are typical of examples from the Qianlong reign. The vase has an underglaze blue four character mark to the base and is an exceptional example.
