  • We offer this rare and substantial antique Chinese Yixing clay punch pot with prunus handle and bamboo spout believed to date from the 18th/19th century. This oversized example is of rounded shape and modeled in red clay with coloured clay applications and designs. The punch pot has a well modeled prunus handle with stems extending around the body and applied with white flower heads. The spout is modeled as bamboo with with two raised stems forming a further handle and extending around the body with applied bamboo leaves. The cover has a rootwood handle and is modeled with small squirrel like animals. The punch pot has an impressed seal mark to the base along with various marks within the lid. A rare and stunning example and one of the largest pieces we have had the pleasure in offering for sale!
