  • We have been instructed in the sale of an extensive and choice single owner Oriental collection amassed over many decades and amounting to over 1,000 items spanning the Dynasties with many rare, unusual and interesting pieces. The collection is to be offered without reserve. We offer this stylish antique Chinese porcelain teapot boldly decorated with Imari designs and dating from the 18th century. The small rounded bullet shaped teapot has a raised straight pouring spout and simple loop handle. The cover sits neatly within a top recess and is boldly decorated with an Imari fan style design in blue and red. Similar fan shaped designs are painted to either side of the body of the teapot below a decorative border with scroll and abstract floral designs painted around the remaining body. The designs have been highlighted with gilding. The teapot has a recessed base which is typically not marked. A well decorated and stunning period teapot to add to any serious collection!
