  • We have been instructed in the sale of an extensive and choice single owner Oriental collection amassed over many decades and amounting to over 1,000 items spanning the Dynasties with many rare, unusual and interesting pieces. The collection is to be offered without reserve. We offer this unusual and exceptional antique Chinese bowl shaped plate beautifully painted and with verse believed to date from the 18th century. The square shaped plate has a raised rim with shaped corners and is exceptionally well hand painted with various buildings set within a watery landscape with fishermen fishing from boats and with a black script, possibly a poem or folklore tale with further red seal marks applied to the surface of the plate. The underside of the rim is painted with red bats with a central four character mark. A stunning and unusual plate and certainly for the discerning collector!
