Product Details

  • Originating from an important private collection we offer this stunning antique Chinese lidded jar decorated with floral designs and dating from the Kangxi reign 1662 – 1722. The porcelain lidded jar is of rounded cylindrical shape with a narrow rounded foot and domed cover. The body of the jar is hand painted in underglaze blue with single floral blooms set within a simple line border. A similar design is painted around the lid. The rims have a brown oxidized finish, applied to the edges to try and prevent fritting and the inner edge, foot and underside edge of the lid have all been left unglazed. The jar is typically not marked.
