Product Details

  • A delightful and rare antique Chinese water dropper or small teapot modeled as a monkey with a large fruit possibly dating from the Kangxi reign or slightly later. The biscuit porcelain figural pot is modeled as a seated monkey his bent arm forming the handle with his other arm holding a large fruit which forms the body of the pot. A pouring spout in the form of a stem is attached to the side. The pot is well detailed with incised and moulded patterns and is decorated in sancai glazes in yellow, brown and green. The base is unglazed and typically not marked.
