Popular luxury watch brand Jeager-LeCoultre is actually spawned out of two independent brands. The “Jaeger” half was set up by the watchmaker to the French Navy, Edmond, at the beginning of the twentieth century. Jaeger made first-class movements, specialising in making them ultra-thin, a new concept at the time. After multiple partnerships with Swiss brand LeCoultre, they eventually joined forces in 1985. Vintage Jaeger watches are rare and sought-after by collectors. Pre-1985 used Jaeger watches are often still in great condition, they are made to an excellent quality and have the world’s finest movements.
