We are offering this superb studio pottery sculpture of a seated boy feeding a bird in the style of Phoebe Stabler and acquired as early 20th century. The earthenware figure is hollow moulded and portrays a naked boy seated on a rockwork base moulded with leaves and fruits. The boy is feeding a bird perched on the side of the base and a frog sits by his feet with a lizard on the opposite side. The detail is superb and this is certainly a very professional and well modeled sculpture. The sculpture has been decorated in a slight lustre green glaze with the base colours of the clay contrasting in the highlights. The figure is marked with an incised GH monogram to the base.
