We are delighted to offer this impressive large and heavy Syrian Islamic Cairoware Mamluk revival silver and copper inlaid brass trayor wall plaque probably dating from the 20th century but could be earlier. The tray is decorated with interlinked calligraphic panels with those around the centre containing phrases from the Koran. The tray is typically not signed but has a small hanging loop attached to the back. We have had this piece appraised for auction in London and have based our asking price on the lower appraisal value.
